Taino Palermo is featured in “Elevating Conversations Around Indigenous Peoples’ Rights” in the Roger Williams University School of Law (RWU Law) Alumni Newsletter. Co-founder and legal director of the Center for Indigenous Peoples Rights (CIPR), Tai, who is also an adjunct professor at RWU Law, is working to change the lives of Indigenous peoples and tribes all over the U.S. In his role as CIPR’s legal director, Tai oversees and manages the general operations of the Center and serves as lead counsel on all legal matters. CIPR is the East Coast’s first and only pro bono law and policy center focused on the rights of Indigenous peoples and nations, providing free legal services, policy support, and critical nation-building technical assistance to help Indigenous people exercise their inherent rights and obtain justice and equity. The Center also serves as an educational resource for local, state and federal policymakers.
