PROVIDENCE (June 27, 2011) – The Providence Business News recently named Matt Plain as one of its 40 Under Forty winners for 2011.
Plain and the other award winners will be honored July 28 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. The 40 Under Forty honorees were chosen based on career success and community involvement. All are legal and business professionals under the age of 40 who have made a commitment to making a difference on a local, national or international scale.
Plain focuses his practice on civil litigation and school law, and is actively involved in a variety of community and professional groups. For example, he organized and is leading the firm’s pro bono initiative as part of the Roger Williams University Pro Bono Collaborative. He is a board member and former executive officer of The Manton Avenue Project, a theater group joining at-risk urban youth with adult artists and actors. Plain, a former public school teacher, has also served as a mentor to students at Year Up in Providence.
