Carr featured in article on liability risks facing ER doctors for incomplete communications with other medical providers

PROVIDENCE (Sept. 17, 2014) – Angela L. Carr in the September 2014 issue of ED Legal Letter is featured in an article on the liability risks facing emergency department physicians when they do not document all communications with other health care providers.

Carr notes in the article (page 101 of the September issue) that malpractice claims can be based on incomplete information among treating physicians regarding treatments for a patient.

“These cases frequently involve miscommunications that occur as a result of critical values not being reported to all physicians caring for a particular patient,” observes Carr, who devotes a substantial portion of her practice to defending medical professionals in professional liability lawsuits.

The ED Legal Letter is a monthly newsletter distributed to ER medical professionals across the country.
