The Rhode Island Supreme Court has just issued a decision in favor of the firm’s client in an employment discrimination/defamation case. The Supreme Court considered an appeal brought by a former employee of the firm’s client, a Rhode Island-based non-profit agency, after the Newport County Superior Court dismissed all of his claims. The former employee had accused the agency of defamation, discrimination, constructive termination, and breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing. However, the Supreme Court affirmed the dismissal of all such claims, holding that the facts as alleged by the plaintiff did not entitle him to relief.
