Kristen M. Whittle will present “Employment Considerations for Aging Services Providers: How to hire and fire employees without violating applicable laws” at the LeadingAge Rhode Island 28th Annual Conference and Trade Show being held at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, Rhode Island. Kristen’s session will address how to conduct a legally-compliant hiring process, including recruitment, applications, interviews, and offers—as well as pre-employment drug screening. In addition, this program will provide information and best-practice tips for how to terminate employees without violating state or federal employment laws. We will also discuss best-practices for maintaining appropriate personnel records that comply with Rhode Island law and can help support a decision to terminate employees where necessary.
