Angela L. Carr ’01 was recently named president of the Providence College Greater Providence (Mal Brown) Alumni Club.
The Mal Brown Club strives to foster a spirit of association and fellowship among members and advance the mission of Providence College through its activities, including providing opportunities for alumni, alumnae and friends to come together and raise monies to support the Mal Brown Scholarship Fund.
Carr, a partner in Barton Gilman’s Providence office, is an experienced civil litigator, focusing her trial practice on professional liability defense, employment law, and business litigation. She regularly provides risk consulting for hospitals and practice groups in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. In addition to her role in the alumni club, Carr serves on the Providence College President’s Council, is secretary of the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State, is vice president of the board of directors of Defense Counsel Rhode Island, and co-chairs the Medical Malpractice Subcommittee of the Massachusetts Defense Lawyers Association. In 2015, she completed the Leadership Rhode Island (Lambda II Class) community leadership program.
Providence Business News selected Carr to its 2014 class of 40 Under Forty. She was named by Super Lawyers as a Rhode Island Rising Star in 2012- 2014 and a Super Lawyer in 2015, and a Massachusetts Super Lawyer in 2017.
